COMPILER'S NOTES |
1
Those
named without an asterisk (*) are listed as ‘active’ on
the Super Constellation Fleet in the Flight Staff Disposition
List of 15th April 1960, OR confirmed as having served
‘on type’ from other documentation such as items or obituaries
from the quarterly AARAP newsletters, and also from discussion
with crewmembers of the time.
2
Those
names bearing an asterisk (*) denote individuals having moved
across, during 1959, on to the B707, only 6 months in service
at the time of issue of the FSDL. Most of these crew members would
have had L-749 / L-1049 experience previously, given that the
Company’s flagship fleet had been of that type during the years
of 1947-1954 & 1954-1959 respectively.
3
CAUTION:
There may have been the occasional individual so listed who had
served via the DC-4 or New Guinea fleets, thereby avoiding Constellation
service, and now appearing here in error.
4
Assumptions have been made, as per preceding notes, as to the likelihood of individuals employed during the period of the Constellation (Oct ’47 for L-749 and Apr ’54 onwards for the L-1049) until the first courses for the B707 were commenced during 1958. There were over 220 pilots alone who were actively ‘on-service’ before the first B707 arrived. |
5
There
will be some errors of inclusion or exclusion, hopefully
to be rectified in time.
6
(N)
indicates that the crew member was also licensed as a Navigator.
(R) indicates that the crew member was also licensed as a Radio Officer. |
7
(&
L-749) indicates that the crew member is known to have served
also on the L-749 Constellation.
