This page is dedicated to the memory of Gil White. It was Gil who compiled this listing and the companion listing of TAA Electra crew members (his father was a TAA Electra Captain). Gil's work in this area of research also inspired the creation of similar listings of Qantas Electra, Constellation and Boeing 707 crew members. Gil passed away in Melbourne on 26 June 2006 after a long illness, knowing that his work and this dedication would be preserved in perpetuity.

This list was compiled by Gil White whose father was a TAA Electra Captain. As the numerical imbalance between Captains and First Officers and Flight Engineers suggests, this list is in no way complete. Any additions or corrections will be most welcome and these should be forwarded to the Webmaster Ron Cuskelly, who will continue to maintain the list in Gil's memory. Obviously, it has not been possible to seek the approval of every person on this list, so in the unlikely event that any person does not wish to be included in such distinguished company, that person's wishes will be respected. Shane Simmons advises that he flew the Electra as a First Officer from 1978 to 1980. He also advises that Robert "Bob" Cox served as an F/O around the same time. Shane advises that Jim Small was a Captain on the Electra so he has been deleted from the F/O list and added to the list of Captains.

Mike Horneman advises; "I flew the Electra from 1981 until they retired late 83, about 600 hours. I flew the last flight Cairns-Weipa-Cairns-Brisbane with Jeff Skinner and Stan Clark". Also added F/E Jim Hall to the list on advice from Mike.

Danielle Rodgers advises that her late father, Bill Rodgers, was a Captain on the Electra. He joined Ansett-MAL in 1965 flying DC-3, Caribou and F.27. He transferred to Ansett in 1974 and flew F.27, Electra and B737. He retired in 1986 because of ill health and passed away in 1990.

John Knox advises that his friend Andrew Reginald Gersekowski DFC was a Check Captain on Electras. Accordingly he has been moved from the F/O list to the list of Captains. Thanks John.

John Bibo has added F/E Ken Barnes to the list. Ken was previously a maintenance engineer with Qantas. He left Ansett to join Cathay Pacific as Operations Manager. Thanks to John and to Fred Niven for this addition.

Ken White advises that he was a Captain on Electras from January 1974 until May 1978. Prior to joining Ansett he was an Electra LAME with Qantas rated on the airframe & engine as well as an electrical extension, from 1960 until he left Qantas in 1963.
